Story Telling, Conversation and Solidarity Fair 

This production is the latest iteration of the work created by the Teatro Jornalero (Day Laborer Theater). The TJ was organized under the auspices of the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park in East Oakland and performed widely until January 2025 when potential ICE presence made continuing too dangerous. When we asked one of the organizers if he was sure he wanted to proceed now, he told us,

«Los efectos curativos que nos reporta compartir nuestras historias con el público superan con creces todos los riesgos».

We will have security measures in place.  Afternoon activities will also include a mini “Immigrant Rights Solidarity Fair” where community groups will inform the public of crucial ways to take supportive actions.

This event will be a benefit for the Peralta Hacienda Day Laborer Project, helping to support the economic needs of day laborers.
